For one to be self-aware, they need to have the capacity to understand their emotions/feelings, thoughts and behaviour and to a student, then they will probably be fully aware of their background, their current situation and use that information to navigate through life in order to achieve their personal and career goals.
Often times the youth/adolescents are blinded by the environment and being in a state where they are semi-confused when transiting to adulthood, there is an urge to explore which may easily trap them into making regrettable decisions like early pregnancies, drug addiction, escaping from school, engaging into physical fights, name it all which puts them on a verge of being dismissed from school thus a premature cut off from meeting their career goals.
Fruits of being self-aware;
- Having self-awareness gives us the power to critically understand our feelings and thoughts.
- Helps us become better decision-makers
- Boosts our self-confidence.
- Enhances our communication to that with clarity and intention
After the exciting training on SEL, learners have highly practised self-awareness and given positive feedback to us within our continuous mentorship.
