The 2023 Uganda Certificate of Education examination results and what they mean to us as a nation.

With a rise in the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) performance of candidates scoring Division 1,  UNEB announced a drop in failures and 95.9% of learners who sat for the 2023 UCE examination qualify to proceed to the next levels. 49.5% of the total number were male and 50.5% female.

The overall performance in the sciences has again not impressed UNEB with less than 20% of the candidates obtaining Credit pass scores in Physics and Chemistry subjects, and upto 40% unable to pass.

What do these results really mean to us as a nation? This is the overall assessment of hundreds of thousands of youth in their journey to adulthood and what quality of adulthood have we packaged for them.
